The 2025 Darwin International Laksa Festival has wrapped up its biggest year yet, with more than 9,000 people attending the Grand Finale at the Darwin Waterfront and contributing to a record breaking year for the month-long celebration of laksa in the NT.
As part of the festival’s evaluation process, attendees were invited to complete the Grand Finale survey, helping organisers gather feedback to continue growing and improving the event. Our sponsors, Singapore Airlines generously provided the major prize: two return airfares from Darwin to Singapore.
Following the completion of the evaluation period, Joseph Tuaine was randomly selected as the lucky recipient of the prize.
The survey forms an essential part of the Laksa Festival’s planning and development each year, capturing feedback on programming, food offerings, visitor experience, and overall satisfaction. The Territory’s popularity during the festival continues to rise, with this year marking:
- A record-breaking 123 venues participating across the NT
- More than 200 laksa and laksa-inspired dishes created for competition
- The largest Grand Finale crowd to date, with over 9,000 attendees enjoying entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and the announcement of Golden Bowl and People’s Choice winners
(All figures sourced from publicly reported event coverage.)
The Darwin International Laksa Festival will return next year with even more flavour, more venues, and more opportunities for the community to shape the event through their feedback.
